Top25Queen.jpg

Queen is one of the first bands I ever listened to and a band I considered my absolute favorite band for many years, and they are still among my absolute favorites. Listening to Queen music videos at the pre-parties during my high school years is something I will always value very much. Picking songs for a top ten was extremely hard, there was simply too many honorable mentions, so I decided to go with twenty five songs instead. This list is a bit different than many other lists on the internet, but remember, these are just my personal favorites!

If you want to listen to more than these twenty five songs, check out my Playlists, you find all my Queen songs on Playlist 36, as well as the Queen Tribute Concert on Playlist 1. For this Top List, I have a short description of why I like each song, but I primarily figure the songs will speak for themselves!

I hope you enjoy my top 25 favorite Queen songs!

#25 The invisible man

We start this list off with a song that is quite underrated. It has a decent number of views on YouTube but is rarely featured when Queen tour or by any of their many tribute bands. It's a very solid song that I think deserves more attention.

#24 Fat bottomed Girls

This is an early Queen song, which lyrics might be considered controversial today. However, I don't see much harm in the lyrics, I considered it more as a song who appreciates large ladies. It also has a nice melody and deserves a spot on the list.

#23 Radio Ga Ga

Some of you will be shocked seeing this so early on the list, but I got to say I consider this song very good but a little overrated I must say. It's absolutely deserving of a spot on this list but it's not one of my absolute favorites.

#22 Friends will be friends

Friends Will Be Friends is a very solid Queen song that I listened to a lot when I was a kid. It has a very epic vibe to it and Freddie does an amazing performance. It's also one of the best songs that John Deacon has written/co-written i my opinion.

#21 You're My Best Friend

From one "friend-song" to another, and this one is also written by John Deacon. You're My Best Friend is one of their fairly early songs and holds up very well today. John Deacon sure knew how to write songs about friendship.

#20 '39

This song has, in my opinion, very nice lyrics and is a chill song with a very likeable melody. One thing that makes this song special is that it is not sung by Freddie Mercury, but by Brian May instead, who shows he can do more than play guitar.

#19 Headlong

This is one of Queen's most underrated songs and deserves far more views on YouTube. Headlong has power, it has speed, and it has instruments at its very finest. I think it deserves far more love and is a given entry on my list.

#18 Killer Queen

Killer Queen was a huge hit when it came and helped made Queen a world sensation. It's probably one of their most famous and liked songs, and while it only holds the 18th spot on my list, I think it's great and understand why it's so loved.

#17 Princes of the universe

Princes Of The Universe was originally written for the movie Highlander. While I would say the movie is a bit underwhelming, the song definitely is not. It has all the ingredients for an amazing Rock song and doesn't need a movie to thrive.

#16 las palabras de amor

This may not be one of their biggest hits, but it is absolutely one of their best songs, which is just short of being on top 15. It has a very beautiful melody, as well as a nice version by Zucchero on the Queen Tribute Concert that I also recommend.

#15 Bohemian Rhapsody

I know what you are thinking: "Only top 15!?". Hear me out, this song is absolutely amazing and by far their biggest hit, but personally, I think they have even better songs than this, which really shows how good of a band Queen really is!

#14 Who wants to live forever

This is one of Queen's slower and calmer songs, yet it's still one of their most powerful and epic ones. It features some vocals by Brian May as well as an amazing choir to back Freddie Mercury up, which makes the song even better.

#13 One vision

This song is very special to me. It was the last track on the Queen music video DVD we always listened to on the high school pre-parties, which meant this was the last song we blasted before the party, resulting in amazing memories of a great song!

#12 the miracle

A very solid Queen song with nice lyrics, vocals and instruments, that also changes style near the end, which makes it even better. It also features a fun music video, which should have given the child actors bigger careers, they do very well!

#11 I want it All

I Want It All is a song with great power and great, inspiring lyrics. It's also one of many songs with features vocals by Brain May, something I always appreciate. What else can I say, it's a fantastic song, just short of my personal top ten.

#10 Spread your wings

This song may not have the coolest music video (even though Freddie is cool as always), but it has so much more to make up for it. It's one of a few underrated Queen songs, that really has everything that I love with the band.

#9 Don't Stop me now

This was my favorite Queen song for many years and I still hold it very dearly. It has high tempo, great lyrics and an amazing piano performance by Freddie Mercury. It dropped down a little but is a given song on my top ten for sure.

#8 Somebody to love

An absolutely beautiful song and one of the band's most popular ones with nearly half a billion views on YouTube. I understand the popularity, this is an absolutely superb performance that might as well been on my top five, the list is so tight.

#7 Tie your mother down

This is an absolutely fantastic song by Queen. However, this is also a song that is extremely well made during the Queen Tribute Concerts, where it also features
Joe Elliott and Slash. It's understandable this amazing song opened that concert.

#6 A kind of magic

The best way to describe A Kind Of Magic is to say it's magical. I know that's cheesy, but yet very true. It really shows every talent of every band member to the fullest and has a nice music video to match as well, which is always a bonus.

#5 Under pressure

Queen is a top ten band/artist of mine for sure, and another artist on that list is David Bowie. Therefore, song that is co-made by Queen and Bowie is a given success, and Under Pressure really showcase the best from both artists.

#4 I want to break free

There are many reasons why this is a great song, but if you ask me there are two things that stand out a little extra. Firstly, this is probably the Queen song that has the best lyrics and secondly, it has one of the most iconic music videos ever.

#3 crazy little thing called love

This is one of my absolute favorite Queen songs and a song that I ranked on my top three for decades. It has amazing instruments, a great music video and a charismatic performance by Freddie. In short, one of the best Queen songs ever.

#2 Hammer to Fall

A few years ago, I didn't rate this song so high on the list, but over the years it has grown on me more and more and now it's even a candidate for Queen's best song. The amazing lyrics are a big reason, but the music is also absolutely fantastic.

#1 breakthru

I know I use the word "underrated" a lot, but this really is the best word to use here. This is not only Queen's most underrated song, but also one of the most underrated songs ever. It is also one of my all-time favorite songs ever!
