Van Halen was a fantastic rock band, which was led by one of the greatest guitarists of all time. They also, much like Black Sabbath with Ozzy and Dio, had two absolutely amazing singers, David Lee Roth and Sammy Hagar. While most songs on this list are sung by David, I love them both, just like I love everything else about this band.

If you want to listen to more than these ten songs, check out my MV Playlists, you find all my Van Halen songs in Playlist 17. For this Top List, I have a short description of why I like each song, but I primarily figure the songs will speak for themselves!
I hope you enjoy my top 10 favorite Van Halen songs!

#10 Unchained
Unchained is a what I would consider a very typical Van Halen song in many ways, with awesome guitar, vocals etc. However, there is something about this song that feels a bit tougher than many of their songs, which I really appriciate.
#9 Dance THe Night Away
This song lives up to its title and it's quite hard to not feel like dancing, or at least vibe and move around listening to this one. The video is great as well; while having a simple setting, it just (much thanks to David Lee Roth) explodes with energy!
#8 Right Now
One of my favorite Van Halen songs with Sammy Hagar. This song has everything a Van Halen song needs but what makes me like this one especially much is the piano in it, showing that Van Halen were masters on so many different instruments.
#7 runnin' With The Devil
This is not their most energetic and explosive track, it has more of a calm, mellow feel to it. However, that is, in my opinion, something very positive, as it shows that Van Halen can do songs for different occasions that fits different moods.
#6 Why Can't This Be love
Another fantastic song with Sammy Hagar as lead singer, showing just how good he can be. It has a cool, tough yet very positive vibe to it and is a song I listen to when I feel down, as it's one of Van Halen's most uplifting songs in my opinion.
#5 Beautiful Girls
While this might at first glance sound like a fairly standard Van Halen song, I rank it quite high for a simple reason, the guitar. It's my favorite guitar performance of any Van Halen song and I also consider it a quite underrated song overall.
#4 Jump
This song might divide you a little bit. Some think it should be number one and some think it's overrated. For me, I'm somewhere in between. It is their most popular song and it is slightly overrated, but... damn, this song is very good!
#3 Panama
This song is one of their most popular and I can understand why. It's energetic, and has great lyrics, vocals and instruments. I also think this is one of David Lee Roth's absolutely best performances. Simply put, it is a very good Van Halen song.
#2 Ain't Talkin' 'Bout Love
An absolutely amazing song! In the TV-series South Park, this song is used in an episode, Ginger Cow, where they "usher in ten years of Van Halen". If only that was true, as I could almost listen to Van Halen songs like this for ten years straight!
#1 Hot For Teacher
Picking between this and my second pick was not easy, but I landed on this one. It's simply flawless with all the elements take make Van Halen awesome. And it's also the Van Halen song with the best music video. Just enjoy this masterpiece!
