There have been countless parties where we discussed music and the ancient question comes up, who are best, The Beatles or The Rolling Stones. Many say The Beatles. My answer is the same: SHUT UP! I say they are equal. In fact, in a combined song list, there would probably be a few more The Rolling Stones songs for me.

If you want to listen to more than these ten songs, check out my Playlists, you find all my The Rolling Stones songs in Playlist 35. For this Top List, I have a short description of why I like each song, but I primarily figure the songs will speak for themselves!
I hope you enjoy my top 10 favorite The Rolling Stones songs!

#10 Satisfaction
Many years ago, I liked this song, but I didn't think much of it for many more years. Now though, it has once again become a song I really appreciate. Time will tell if this song drops out of my top ten or if it will climb on this list.
#9 Gimme Shelter
Gimme Shelter is one of The Rolling Stones most popular songs and it is often featured in movies as an example of that. Even though I consider it slightly overrated, I still think it's a really good song that deserves a spot on the list.
#8 Play With Fire
Just like Satisfaction, this song was not a favorite a few years ago but recently it has grown on me. I like the fact that it's a mix of chill and mellow yet at the same time powerful and energetic. All in all, a very solid The Rolling Stones song.
#7 She's A Rainbow
This song has a very nice and innocent kind of vibe, which is fairly unique for The Rolling Stones. However, it still works very well and is perfect when you need a pick-me-up. It will very likely climb this list in the near future.
#6 Let's Spend The Night Together
This is a real banger and a song that is candidate for my top five. Even though I must admit I like the cover by Davie Bowie slightly more, this original version of Let's Spend the Night Together is of course phenomenal as well.
#5 Ruby Tuesday
Ruby Tuesday has everything that makes a song great, with both lyrics and music that are top notch. But it's really the beauty, so to speak, of this song that I like the most. This is a song that can help one restore faith in anything in life.
#4 Start Me Up
At times it's hard to describe why I like songs without sounding repetitive, but like many other songs I simply like it for what it is, even though I can't fully pinpoint the favorite parts. It's a great song with both soul and attitude.
#3 MOther's Little Helper
I found this song when I studied at the University many years ago. It helped me get through many tough nights of studies and for that (and because it's a top-notch song on its own) it will always have a special place in my heart.
#2 Paint It, Black
For many years this was my favorite The Rolling Stones song and it's certainly a candidate for the number one spot. I would almost say it's a tie between the two. But it falls just short of the number one spot, and it's no shame in being second.
#1 Sympathy For The Devil
Where to begin with this one. It has great music, and a vibe one can get mesmerized by over and over again. However, the best part is easily the lyrics. I would go as far as to say this song is a candidate for having the best lyrics of any song ever made.
