Top 10 The Beach Boys Songs

The Beach Boys is a timeless band that has been great for over six decades. Even though I generally like rock that is a bit "harder" so to speak, there is something about their songs that I just love. They have such a positive vibe that reminds me of a nice summer day, which makes them perfect to listen to on a dark cold winter day.

#10 I Can Hear Music

We start this list with a song that is calmer than many of the other songs that I like with The Beach Boys. Calm is in no way bad though, this has a very smooth, mesmerizing sound too it, that really reminds one of a nice lazy summer day.

#9 Good Vibrations

Like the previous entry, this also has that nice chill summer feel, though it's a little more upbeat. In many ways this is a typical The Beach Boys song and if I was to describe this song with one word, I would simply choose: Positive.

#8 Wouldn't It Be Nice

This is a very popular The Beach Boys song that once used to be higher up on my personal lists (before they were in written form and only in my mind). However, this has dropped a bit in recent years even though I still think it's a great song.

#7 Barbara Ann

Barbara Ann might not have the most advanced lyrics, and to some it might even come off as a little annoying at times. However, I have many fond memories of dancing to this song back in the day, not always very sober, so it means a lot to me.

#6 Kokomo

Kokomo truly feels like a "beach song", which fits well considering the band's name. Whenever I hear this one, I crave a nice fruity drink on a beach somewhere, just relaxing and enjoying life. It might climb on the list in the future for sure.

#5 Fun, Fun, Fun

Fun, Fun, Fun is also featured on my Status Quo top list, which is a cooperation by the two bands. Although that version is my favorite, this, which is the original of course, is still a very solid version that I enjoy almost as much as the other.

#4 I Get Around

This song has really grown on me in recent years and can likely climb to the top three someday. I like everything about it, the music, the clapping, the lyrics and especially the vocals. Like many of their songs, it has such a mesmerizing vibe.

#3 Then I Kissed Her

It may be one of The Beach Boys' shorter songs but that doesn't matter, as it's also one of their very best. I love the lyrics and the story taking place in the song as well as the instruments. It's such a happy and positive wonderful experience!

#2 Surfin' U.S.A.

Even though this song has had its share of controversy, as it's been called both a tribute to Chuck Berry as well as stolen from him, it's still one of my favorite The Beach Boys songs. It's at least just as good as Chuck's Sweet Little Sixteen!

#1 Sloop John B

This song is based on an old folksong from the Caribbean if my sources are correct and you probably recognize the melody. But none of that matter, this is the best version of this melody, that's so phenomenal that it deserves the number one spot!
