Top 10 Billy Idol Songs

To me, it is hard to find a better example of the lifestyle "Sex, Drugs and Rock N Roll" than Billy Idol. He really is one of the biggest rock icons ever seen. And to match the image, his music is fantastic as well. I've listened to him for years and picking only ten songs in his big arsenal of great songs was surely not an easy task.

#10 Cradle Of Love

I don't know why, but this song somehow reminds me of another band I love, Dire Straits. The melody is a bit, in lack of other words, melancholic, and it really works. The lyrics are also great in this one. Simply a very solid Status Quo song.

#9 Shock To The System

In all honesty, I didn't care that much about this song the first time I heard it, but over the years it has really grown on me and now it's a worthy entry on this list. I also really like the cyber sci-fi music video and it's probably his best music video.

#8 Bitter Taste

This song is quite unique on this list, as it's the only song on this list that was released in recent years (2021). There is no secret that I like his older songs more in general, but this one is great and shows he can still make good new music.

#7 Don't Need A Gun

Don't Need A Gun is certainly one of Billy Idol's most underrated songs. It deserves a lot more views than it has on YouTube right now. The lyrics are great but it's especially the melody that I love about this underappreciated gem.

#6 Eyes Without A Face

The last entry is underrated, and this is probably slightly overrated. It has by far the most views on YouTube out of his songs. However, I do understand much of the hype, it is after all a phenomenal song even if it's not his best one.

#5 Mony Mony

Mony Mony is one of the Billy Idol songs that truly made me love the artist. It's one of my absolute favorites and used to be higher up. However, even though this one is given in the top five, he has a few even better songs coming up.

#4 White Wedding

This is also one of my favorite Billy Idol songs and one of the first I ever heard by him. It really exemplifies everything awesome about Billy Idol, with great lyrics, vocals and instruments, with that tough, cool vibe only Billy can portray!

#3 Rebel Yell

Rebel Yell is definitely one of Billy Idol's most famous songs that I think most people think of when they think of Billy (even though it only has second most views on YouTube), and that makes sense, it's simply a fantastic song!

#2 Dancing With Myself

Picking between this one and the number one entry was really hard. They are both huge favorites of mine, but eventually this landed on the second spot. I often overuse words like "fantastic and phenomenal" but how else can I describe it?

#1 To Be A Lover

On the number one spot we have To Be A Lover. A crazy underrated song who deserves ten times, if not hundred times the number of views on YouTube. Describing how awesome it is is very hard, just listen and enjoy it yourself!
